"Monday Must Have" outfit this week! 7.18.11

With summer at it's very height right now, it brings back many memories of my time wearing suits or "business professional" wear to work everyday. Being a fashion lover, it drove me crazy to always have to dress this way especially when it was a million degrees outside (like this week!). I thankfully had a sales job that allowed me to at least mix it up a bit. I realize that a lot of jobs are not like this so I'm sorry if you are unable to wear these following ideas to work - at least you have the weekends!!

We have some great summer transitional dresses in store right now. My "Monday Must Have" outfit this week are these easy printed dresses.



Both of these dresses will add color and will not be as hot as wearing a pair of black pants. Plus, you will be able to wear them out at night or on the weekends. I would keep a blazer in my car or at my office and throw it over these dresses when I had a meeting with a client. I instantly looked pulled together and ready to go.




This first picture above includes this lightweight linen cream jacket that we have been pairing with everything in store right now. The second picture is a tan suit jacket that I wore constantly and looks great with this dress. The third picture includes a menswear black blazer that everyone needs to have in their closet. You can pair this piece with everything - especially going forward into fall. And it is always on trend - menswear will be huge for the fall again.

I would even add a black belt with the black blazer and it would look even more pulled together and professional. Obviously shoe choice is going to add to this as well...a closed toe pump (if you have to wear closed toe) or heeled sandal. And both of these dresses can be taken well into the fall - add a black legging or tight and some boots. Even the floral dress - you will see many brights this fall - add a jacket, cardigan or blazer and some leggings and all your summer dresses will be taken straight to next season.

A note on the floral print dress - several people that have been in the store this past week have stated that they don't do floral prints. They are either too girly or too country looking. My style does not usually include a floral print anything as well so I totally understand. However, I do like it and I think the print and color is fabulous (not to mention a very trendy print always) so to make it more edgy and modern - I add a moto jacket or a jean shirt.
